Spirit Horse Ranch, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that has recognized its community's need for effective mental health resources for youth and families that are struggling with emotional and behavioral problems. Spirit Horse Ranch provides an opportunity to reach youth and their families in ways that youth find exciting and fun, and help them identify problems in their lives and make lasting changes. The program at Spirit Horse Ranch is a response to the limitations of traditional verbal therapy for clients that are struggling emotionally and behaviorally.
Spirit Horse Ranch uses Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, the professional field in which horses are used as a tool for emotional growth and learning. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with horses, and processing the feelings, behaviors, and patterns involved in the activities with a therapist.
