The Addiction Technology Transfer Center of New England (ATTC-NE), located at Brown University's Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies, promotes system change and workforce enhancement through the infusion of current research and promising approaches in substance abuse treatment, into clinical practice and educational programming.

As training is the infrastructure of the treatment system and of treatment improvement, the proposed Addiction Technology Transfer Center of New England has a particular interest in: promoting cross-training initiatives to professionals and paraprofessionals who provide services to individuals with alcohol and other drug problems; (2) the infusion of research-based addiction content into existing educational programming, leading to competency acquisition in service delivery; (3) developing and disseminating research-based information that defines effective and culturally competent treatment strategies, utilizing innovative technologies; and (4) the provision of technical assistance in the implementation of exemplary treatment practices and strategies in a variety of settings.
